About the Center
Contemplative Outreach of Southeast Wisconsin operates a center where classes, days of prayer and other events are provided to the public. Our Center for Contemplative Living in Elm Grove, WI offers introductory workshops on Centering Prayer, as well as Father Thomas Keating’s in-depth, five-part Spiritual Journey Series. A variety of related classes and activities are also available.
Our Mission
To experience the renewal of the Christian Contemplative Tradition by providing basic and ongoing instruction in Centering Prayer and additional relevant courses and activities to build and strengthen the practice of Centering Prayer in community.

Center News
The Center for Contemplative Living collaborated
with Prayer for Salesman to develop the silent prayer
component for their online prayer program
directed to individuals working in sales.
Tim Cornell, founder of Prayer for Salesman is a
successful salesman who grounds his work
on prayer and his Catholic faith. He is also a
very accomplished musician.

Claudine Willoughby, COSEW
Confirmation Retreat
The Center for Contemplative Living was invited to present on the Christian Contemplative Tradition and Centering Prayer to Junior High School students preparing for Confirmation. Sr. Ann Koerner and Claudine Willoughby represented the Center together with Fr. Thomas DeVries. A total of 41 students and 6 adult leaders participated. The event took place at the St. Benedict Abbey on Benet Lake, WI.
The Center for Contemplative Living was invited to present on Christian Contemplation and Centering Prayer to 125 students at a local High School.
Uniting Prayer and Service
Sister Edna Lonergan, OSF, St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care's founder and president, and Diane Beckley, Chief Operating Officer of St. Ann's Bucyrus Campus received a donation of blankets and soap and washcloth sets from the Center for Contemplative Living Ora et Labora knitting group.
Sister Ann Koerner, CSA, COSEW's coordinator and Claudine Willoughby, a member of the Knitting group presented the donation.
The blankets were made and donated to COSEW by
Ms. ELVINA MAYCOCK, 94-year-old!
