About the Event

Since this contemplative art session is being held the first week of Advent it is fitting to look at the ways that each of us are preparing to birth the divine in our own lives. We will use clay, an earthy, tactile media that easily grounds us in our body. We will create a vessel, a protected womb-like container reminding us that “We are all meant to be mothers of God” (Meister Eckart, translated by Matt Fox). The experience will begin with a guided meditation using the clay for centering prayer. Simple faith sharing will be optional at the ending of the evening.
